Ardeshir Contractor is the founder & CEO of Kiran Energy, an Indian solar energy utility at the forefront of long term solar contracting and a leader in non-recourse project financing. He chairs India’s solar energy task force at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and partners with Government in developing policy, standards, and technological opportunity. He worked with the UN Environment Programme’s 2015-16 Enquiry on designing a global sustainable financial system. Ardeshir has served on the Board of Nature India, Ohio State Institute of Materials Research, on Government Committees, and on Clean Energy Ministerial. He has presented at the US Exim Bank Annual Conference, Bloomberg Future of Energy, IEEE PVSC, and Handelsblatt Renewable Energy; and has addressed the United Nations at the Paris COP21 in 2015. He also served as a Director and investor of India Blue Mountain, a real estate Expert Fund in Jersey, UK.
Ardeshir holds a Bachelor of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a Masters in Science from Ohio State University. His published work includes a paper on heat exchange analysis published in ASME Proceedings. Prior to founding Kiran Energy, he was the Managing Director of KPMG India and with Lazard. He has twenty years of experience in infrastructure and finance including advising on Mumbai and Delhi airport privatizations, oil sector transactions and bank mergers.
