15:00 -16:00 From the EDHEC/Natixis Research Chair: How Risky is Infrastructure Debt? New Empirical Evidence and Regulatory Implications
This session discusses EDHECinfra’s advanced credit risk model for private infrastructure project debt and how it can be used to derive the metrics that can make it fully part of an asset allocation process. It presents empirical results drawn from the largest database of infrastructure project cash ows available for research to date, spanning hundreds of deals in a dozen countries in the OECD over the past 20 years. This approach allows for the computing of default frequencies and the prediction of recovery rates, but also the computing of the period returns and the expected shortfall of portfolios of private project debt.

This session presents, for the rst time, the results from the largest empirical study of infrastructure cash ows ever undertaken, covering hundreds of investments over the past 15 years and comparing them with thousands of public and private rms.
